By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, June n15, 2026: Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday conducted a successful flight-test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, according to an official press release.
All test objectives were fully achieved, based on data from various tracking instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur.
The LRLACM is an indigenously developed missile with all sub-systems created by various DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners. The Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru acts as the nodal laboratory.
The launch was witnessed by senior DRDO officials and user representatives from the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO team and industry partners on the successful flight-test of the missile.
Defence Secretary and Secretary, Department of Defence (R&D) as well as Chairman DRDO Rajesh Kumar Singh monitored activities during the launch. He congratulated all team members involved in the successful flight test.
