By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, December 20, 2023: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts unchanging weather conditions for the next two days amid a chilling cold wave in Odisha. Very cold nights accompanied by shallow to moderate fog in various parts of the state are expected disrupting normal life.
Dense fog has already been reported in Sundargarh, Koraput, and Kandhamal districts, with shallow fog in Kalahandi and Keonjhar. Minimum temperatures have significantly dropped in south and interior Odisha, remaining markedly below normal in some interior areas and appreciably below normal in coastal regions.
Paralakhemundi recorded the day’s highest temperature at 29.6°C, while G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district experienced the lowest minimum temperature of 7.0°C.
