By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 24, 2022: Odisha government is all set to promote night tourism on the sea beaches to attract more foreign tourists to the state. The Assembly Standing Committee (ASC) endorsing some proposals to initiate night tourism in the state.

The night tourism program will just boost the tourism potential of the state, said a senior official of the tourism department.

The state government is planning to facilitate night tourism in Puri, Konark, and Chilika in the first phase with food, entertainment, beverages, and cultural programs under one tent.

The ASC has also proposed to involve local and regional entrepreneurs in this initiative.

Odisha has a vast coastline of about 480 km in length that is turning into a coastal highway soon.

Similarly, the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has proposed to develop five lighthouses of Odisha as hubs of tourism under the Sagarmala project.

Besides, the eco-tourism initiative of the state tourism department has created a niche by attracting unexpected tourist footfall to the state.
