By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, October 21, 2018: More than 150 women ran from KIIT square upto Sailashree Vihar Road and back to KIIT square. Called Pinkathon, the running event aims to empower and enable thousands of women across India to bring positive physical change into their lives.

Mousumee Mishra, Pinkathon Ambassador flagged off the run and she was supported by other two ambassadors, Indira Priyadarshini and Biswanath. Former Olympian Aruradha Biswal also participated to cheer up the runners.

The Pinkathon, organized by the United Sisters Foundation is conceived as more than just a running event. More than 11,000 women across five countries and 63 cities had participated in a 5 kms run to showcase their solidarity towards the cause on Sunday morning, Mousmee said.

“Our fitness goal for Pinkathon is to push for fitness as a lifestyle so that we have healthier women at all households”, she added.

Pinkathon is India’s Biggest Women’s run founded by Milind Soman and Reema Sanghavi, was created with the objective of spreading awareness about women’s health related issues like breast cancer.
