By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 26, 2018: Odisha government will shortly introduce a unified code by simplifying the revenue laws to help people to get justice in land disputes.

The process has been initiated to make the land laws easier for common people, according to revenue and disaster management minister Maheswar Mohanty.

A unified code will be introduced by simplifying the existing seven revenue laws that have as many as 299 sections. As per the decision at the meeting, the draft code will be referred to the Law department for scrutiny and public opinion will be taken on the draft code that will be uploaded on the website.

Earlier, State government had set up a 12-member panel headed by Board of Revenue member to prepare Odisha Land and Revenue Code that will simplify the land laws for people.
