By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 12, 2017: Odisha chief minister and the ruling Biju Janata Dal president, Naveen Patnaik will begin ward-level visits from August 31 next in a bid to strengthen the party’s support base in the state.

Patnaik’s ward-level visit follows the ‘Mo Booth Sabuthu Majboot’ (My Booth Strongest) campaign launched by BJP.

Patnaik would start his campaign from Berhampur’s ward no 23 on the occasion of the local self-governance day on August 31.

Incdeintally, people across the State used to visit Bhubaneswar to present their grievances before the Chief Minister. “Belatedly, the CM now will meet people in their localities and resolve their issues,” an observer said.

Patnaik on Saturday met party observers here and instructed them to form ward-level committees in two months. He also circulated a template among party observers to facilitate selection of ward-level observers.

“In today’s meeting, district level matters of the party were discussed with observers,” Patnaik informed media.

BJD vice president Damodar Rout, who was also present in the meeting, said, “Patnaik has asked the members to strengthen the party organisation and counter false propaganda against BJD.”
