By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, February 18, 2017 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday suspended of Orissa Small Industries Corporation Ltd (OSIC) managing director Partha Sarathi Mishra, who is under judicial custody on graft charges.

The vigilance sleuths apprehended 2006-cader IAS officer near his office while carrying huge amount of cash in his car on Thursday. A local court at Cuttack also rejected Mishra’s bail plea.

Meanwhile, the vigilance department has appealed in the Special Court (Vigilance) to take the suspended IAS officer on five day remand. The designated court will hear the case on Monday, sources said.

“We had received several corruption allegations against Dr Partha Sarathi Mishra in last six months including taking bribe from contractors and we were verifying the allegations secretly,” Swarup Parida, SP (Vigilance) told media persons.

The Vigilance department had conducted simultaneous searches at the residence and official quarters of Mishra. The cops have identified three massive buildings – one each at Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack worth over Rs two crore. Preliminary investigation revealed that the bureaucrat amassed assets worth over Rs 5 crore.

Besides, travel documents were found from the possession of the bureaucrat which showed that Mishra travelled frequently to USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands and other countries.
