rs-2000-noteBy Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, November 27, 2016 : Congress and Left parties will take out separate rallies across Odisha on Monday in protest against Narendra Modi government’s demonetization move.

The protesters will hold demonstrations in front of the officer of Reserve Bank of India [RBI] and State Bank of India [SBI].

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan had earlier announced that the party would hold ‘Jana Akrosh’ rallies across the state.

“This is an undeclared financial emergency. We are going to hold protests in all blocks and district headquarters tomorrow,” OPCC chief Prasad Harichandan said.

While Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) has called for the protests, SP, BSP, RJD, and DMK had agreed to join hands in protest.

However, the ruling Biju Janata Dal [BJD] in Odisha and Janata Dal [U] would stay away from the protests as they had earlier supported the demonetization move.

Similarly, members of CPI, CPI-M, CPI-ML, SUCI and Forward Bloc would stage demonstrations in front of the RBI building here and SBI branches at all the district headquarters.
