juryBy Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 18, 2016 : The Orissa High Court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Indu Dewan, one of the directors of Mumbai-based company Prism Heights Films & Entertainment Private Limited.

The premier investigating agency, Central Bureau of Investigation had arrested Dewan on October 17, 2015 for her alleged links with Artha Tatwa (AT) Group, a major player in the chit fund scam in Odisha.

The CBI had found that crores of rupees from the AT Group were siphoned off to Dewan’s account. The AT Group had transferred Rs 3.56 crore to Dewan’s bank account, the CBI had mentioned in the chargesheet submitted before the court.

The CBI also had arrested Dewan’s sister and Mumbai based model Preeti Bhatia for her links with the firm. Both sisters had joined hands with AT Group chief Pradeep Kumar Sethy to form a film production company in the name of Prism Heights Film and Entertainment Private Ltd in Mumbai.

Dewan is now lodged in the Jharpada Special Jail here after her anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Orissa High Court.
