ADITYA-PADHI-319x239By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 12, 2016 : The temple city of Bhubaneswar – the state capital of Odisha, will host a two-day ‘Make in India’ conference in December to woo investment to the state, chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Friday said.

The state government will primarily focus on Make in Odisha during the two-day conference scheduled to be held on December 1 and 2, Padhi told reporters at the conclusion of a preparatory meeting held here.

“The first preparatory meeting was held today. It was attended by the joint secretary of department of industrial policy & promotion, government of India, Atul Chaturvedi. We will hold the conference on December 1 and 2 in Bhubaneswar,” he said.

The chief secretary further added that the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) global will hold a startup conference. “Besides, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise Enterprise Odisha at the same time. The primary focus will be Make in Odisha to promote investment in the state across priority sectors,” Padhi added.

Odisha unit of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and CII also attended the meeting.

“We plan to showcase Odisha as a destination point for investment. We expect both public and private sector enterprises to take part in it,” FICCI Odisha State Council head Sanjeev Kumar Mohanty said.
