devi prasad mishraBy Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, June 4, 2016 : Odisha targets to attract Rs 2.5 lakh crore investments in State with the implementation of the new Start-Up policy formulated by it from this month.

The policy which seeks to achieve the objectives set in Vision-2025, also aims to transform Odisha into one of the major manufacturing hubs in Eastern India.

Officials said, the new Start-up policy aims to generate 10 lakh employment opportunities.

In 2015-16, the State government approved 39 projects worth Rs 48,000 crores. Moreover, the industries department is keen on downstream industries along with ease of doing business.

“By 2025 we are aiming at creating 10 lakh jobs and attract Rs 2.5 lakh investments in five focus sectors. After review we have found that the second stage reforms under Aspiring Leaders and Ease of Doing Business initiatives we have achieved 80% compliance,” industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra said.
