tata steel kalingaBy Bizodisha Bureau in Bhubaneswar, June 21, 2016 : Odisha on Tuesday approved two projects with an investment of Rs 1,002 crore.

The Single Window Clearance Authority (SWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi cleared the two projects – steel processing unit and a logistic park expected to generate employment of about 1,000 people in the state.

The BMW Industries Limited (BMWIL) has proposed to set up a steel processing unit at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 900 crore, Industry Secretary Sanjib Chopra said adding that it would generate direct employment for 602 people, he said.

The proposed project would come up over 100 acres of land to produce colour coated steel sheets and galvanised steel tubes.

Besides, Chhattisgarh-based LL Logistics Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up a logistics park at Indranipatna near Choudwar in Cuttack district. The company will invest Rs 102 crore and employ 460 people in its unit, Chopra said.

The company would set up warehouse, container facilities and cold storage in 70 acres of land.
