Senior Journalist and Social Activist Sai Prasan on Sunday afternoon died at a hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He was found unconscious by railway police at Nagpur station while he was travelling to Rourkela by Geetanjali Superfast Express on Saturday. The railway police took him to Indira Gandhi Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Mewa in Nagpur city. Doctor declared him dead on Sunday.

Sai worked in various newspapers before forming Janata Vikas Manch, a civil society forum in 2011. Under JVM banner he was organizing various activities to promote civil society actions in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhatisgarh. He was the consulting editor of Bizodisha.com and managed personalfinancewindow.com. He was also a columnist and worked on alternative policy and alternative media.

He had organized a historical padyatra Mee Votu – Mee Satta (Your Vote – Your Govt) during April 2014 covering all 13 districts of recent Andhra Pradesh. Before his death, he was active in organizing events on mission Digital Odisha and planned a training event to be held on 4 June 2015 at Bhubaneshwar.

His last tour was to Raurkela in Odisha to participate in a convention of a local media. He was unmarried and his family members are staying in Visakhapatnam.
