Sridhar Patra and Tapan Chand

By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 14, 2019: National Aluminium Company Limited’s (Nalco) Director (Finance) Sridhar Patro will be the next chairman cum managing director of the Navratna PSU, official sources said on Wednesday.

Patro will succeed Tapan Kumar Chand, who is scheduled to retire in November this year.

The Department of Personnel and Training’s Public Enterprises Selection Board interviewed four candidates for the coveted post on Wednesday and chose Patro, sources said. Steel Authority of India, Soma Mandal; CMD, MECON Limited, Atul Bhatt and Director (Finance), North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) M Shiva Shunmuganathan, where others who appeared the interview.

Patra had joined as Director (Finance) of Nalco in September 2018 after a stint with THDC India Limited. He had earlier worked with public sector undertakings like Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd, Indian Rare Earths Ltd and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (a subsidiary of ONGC Ltd).
