By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, February 12, 2018: Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik on Monday assured a delegation from IAS, IPS and OAS associations of appropriate action against the hooligans who ransacked official residence of senior IAS officer V K Pandian on Saturday.
The delegation demanded stern action against lawbreakers.
The IAS association on Sunday had an emergency meeting where they decided to meet the chief minister, chief secretary and home secretary in this regard.
“Associations from all over the State have given petitions regarding the unfortunate incident. Appropriate action will be taken,” Patnaik said.
The CM, soon after the incident on Saturday, condemned the act saying it’s “shocking”.
Besides, civil society members and former bureaucrats too slammed the act and demanded exemplary action against those who are involved in such hooliganisms.
About 20 persons, on Saturday, waving BJP flags parked their bikes, forced open the main gate, allegedly damaged flower pots and hurled cow dung at the bureaucrat’s house at VIR 7 in Unit VI area in the city.
