By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, September 28, 2017: Anti-Maoist operations will be intensified in cut-off areas of Malkangiri and border areas of Odisha along Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as the area is under prime focus, Border Security Force (BSF) ADG Arun Kumar said on Thursday.
“Our major challenge is the Andhra-Chhattisgarh border. Movement is the main challenge. We want to make more inroads in the cut-off area to do the operations. Then on the Chhattisgarh border, there are security gaps in the Tulsi-Dongri area. We want to further move into Tulsi-Dongri area. Recently, we had a joint training of SOG, COBRA and Odisha police,” informed Border Security Force (BSF) ADG Arun Kumar briefing reporters at a press conference here.
Kumar said currently emphasis is being laid on joint training especially of BSF, COBRA and CRPF.
Besides, he informed a border meeting would be held soon in Vishakhapatnam which will be attended by top officers of security forces.
Union Cabinet’s approval of a proposal for modernization of police will boost the morale of the security personnel, he added.
Meanwhile, guns, explosives and live bullets were today seized from Dangteka forest during a joint search operation by Rourkela and Sambalpur police.
