By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 31, 2017: Famed sand artist from Odisha Sudarshan Pattnaik on Thursday created a sand sculpture on Sentosa Island in Singapore to highlight the hazards of ocean pollution.

Pattnaik represents India alone in this Festival.

The acclaimed artist famed artist crated his art with message “Say no to Plastic; Save our Ocean” on the concluding day of the ongoing Singapore International Sand Art Festival 2017.

The four-day sand art festival, which began on August 28 saw participation of as many as 15 artists from countries like Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Portugal, and Togo.

The Padma Shri awardee Pattnaik, has participated in more than 50 International sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country.

“We are facing imminent ecological disaster if you do not take appropriate measures from now onwards. The greatest obstacle is the way we live by destroying our environment in the name of development”, Sudarshan told “Bizodisha.com.
