The British Council’s three-day workshop on ‘Enriching Education’ at the KiiT International School (KiiT-IS) concluded here on Sunday with participating experts deliberating on a number of modules to raise the level of teaching-learning process.

Over 100 teachers from government and private schools across India attended the workshop that aimed to teach them to enrich the curriculum.

“This is the first time that the British Council organised this workshop in Odisha. It was yet another initiative of KiiT International School to raise the level of school education in the state,” a spokesperson of KiiT International School said.

The workshop featured modules like ‘Explore the world through Shakespeare’, ‘Our shared history – World War I,’ ‘Use of ICT to write short reports, stories and case studies,’ ‘Child protection’ and ‘Active learning through science.’

A team of United Kingdom and Indian experts led the professional development programme for the teachers. They included Tracy Irish, Warwick Business School Shakespeare Scholar at The University of Warwick, Timothy Gerrish, international child protection expert, Alison Willmott, education consultant, Baldev Singh of Imagine Education Ltd and Vimala Oak and Rekha Bajaj from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
