By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, February 6, 2017 : Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram on Mopnday said, the Biju Janata Dal MP from Balasore Rabindra Jena should have been in jail by now and must thank CBI for not arresting him.

Responding to the allegations made by Jena against the premier investigating agency CBI probing the chit fund scam in Odisha, Oram said, “Rabindra Jena should thank CBI for not arresting him so far. He (Jena) should have been in jail by now.”

don’t know the exact reason behind the operation. This is the lowest point of political vendetta. I have never seen this in democracy. I hope the injustice meted out to me should stop now,” Jena said.

Jena was interrogated by CBI sleuths several times earlier for his alleged link with the ponzi scheme company Seashore Group which duped thousands of investors in Odisha.

Jena’s house and factory in the name of his wife at Balasore were raided by central excise teams in connection with the chit fund scam. A five-member team also raided his office as well.

Searches were conducted by the agency’s four-member team at Om Pipe Manufacturing factory, in the same town, also in the name of his wife.

CBI had on January 12 carried out raids at 25 locations in the country in connection with the chit fund scam, including at Jena’s office and residence.
