By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, November 2, 2016 : Odisha will provide loan at one per cent interest to Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the state and the cap on the limit of the loan is pegged at Rs three lakh.

This was announced by chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday at a public meeting in Keonjhar district.

Patnaik said the SHGs can avail up to Rs 3 lakh loan at one per cent interest. He also dished out a list of several initiatives of his government to protect the interests of women.

The government has made provisions to issue land records and ration cards in the name of women. It also provides one per cent relaxation on stamp duty during registration of land, the Chief Minister added.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to the development of farmers, Patnaik said the government is providing agriculture loan to farmers at one per cent interest.

The chief minister on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of a government medical college in Keonjhar district for which the state government would spend Rs 300 crore.

Earlier on Wednesday, the chief minister inaugurated various projects in Jajpur district.
