By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, October 6, 2016 : Odisha government is committed to provide safe drinking water to each and every family, chief minister Naveen Patnaik said here on Thursday while dedicating 100 new drinking water projects for urban areas at a state-level special function organised here.
Patnaik also laid the foundation stone for an equal number of similar projects via video conferencing. Besides, the chief minister inaugurated simplified process for approval of building plans.
“The state government is working with the commitment towards improving urban governance in our state. Today 100 urban drinking water projects were dedicated and work for 100 more projects also started. Besides, the ‘Online Smart Water Information Management System’ and other citizen centric services were launched to bring more accountability and efficiency in urban water management,” Patnaik said briefing newsmen after the function.
The Online Smart Water Information Management System will enable access to information on the quality of water, water connection, water tax collection and stipulated quantity of water flowing.
Minister for housing and urban development Pushpendra Singhdeo said, the CM also dedicated e-Building Pass System (e-BPAS), which is a simplified process for getting building plan approval than the earlier system in which people use to face hassles”.
