Nearly 19,000 candidates on Sunday appeared for the police constable recruitment written test which was cancelled at the last minute on March 15 after a question leak.

While more than 60, 000 candidates had applied for the 1350 posts on offer, over 19, 000 appeared in the written test that was held across 31 centres in the state from 11 am to 11.45 am.
Tight security arrangements were made at the examination hubs and centres to avoid a repeat of the March 15 fiasco.

Eight persons, including six police personnel, have been arrested so far in connection with the leakage of the question papers by the Crime Branch, which has been entrusted with the probe into the leak.
