By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, December 5, 2024: The mineral rich state of Odisha also has gold deposits, which have been discovered in two districts of Odisha, with ongoing exploration, Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena told the state Assembly on Thursday.
Gold deposits were located in the Adas-Rampalli area of Deogarh district and the Gopur-Gajipur area of Keonjhar district. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has completed G-2 level exploration in the Adas-Rampalli area of Deogarh, which has shown promising results,m according to the minister.
In Keonjhar’s Gopur-Gajipur area, G-3 level exploration has yielded satisfactory results, leading to the commencement of G-2 level exploration.
The GSI, in partnership with the Directorate of Mines and Geology of Odisha, is conducting this exploration, the Minister informed adding that subsequent actions will be based on the Technical Committee’s recommendations following the final report from the exploration agencies.
