By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, December 1, 2024: Top brass of police leadership of the country is understood to have chalked out roadmaps to counter existing and emerging national security challenges, including left wing extremists, Coastal Security, Narcotics, Cyber Crime and Economic Security during the three day the 59th DGsP/IGsP Conference 2024 concluded on Sunday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah spent three days in the State Capital here to attend the Conference being held at a crucial time. The conference was attended by DGsP/IGsP of all States/UTs and heads of the CAPFs/CPOs physically and by ocers of various ranks virtually from all States.
The progress in the implementation of the new Criminal Laws and initiatives and best practices in policing was also reviewed during the conference.
Speaking to media people after the culmination of the conference, Twin City Police Commissioner Suresh Devadatta Singh said, “Amid potential threats, full proof security blanket was ensured during the event. We were thoroughly investigating them.”
The Conference was held amid threats from Khalistani extremist groups, the three-day-long DGP-IGP conference was held peacefully in Bhubaneswar. US-based Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had threatened to disrupt the ongoing three-day DGP-IGP conference in Bhubaneswar.
Pannun reportedly sent audio and a threatening email to several journalists in Odisha yesterday warning of an attack and disrupting operations at Bhubaneswar International Airport on December 1.
