By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, February 28, 2020: Odisha on Friday approved two investment proposals in plastics and aluminium downstream sectors worth Rs 563 crore. Both the projects are expected to create employment opportunities for about 1,273 people, officials said.
The state-level single window clearance authority headed by chief secretary Asit Tripathy cleared the proposals in its meeting here. The Authority has power to clear individual projects with investment potential of below Rs 1,000 crore.
Among the projects approved include Jindal Aluminium Limited’s expansion project to set up aluminium extrusions plant at the Angul aluminium park. The company will have an additional investment of Rs 500 crore for the expansion project. Around 1,000 people will get employment in the expansion project.
Another proposal of the Glen Industries Pvt Ltd to set up plastic food containers and moulded paper products manufacturing unit at Paradip also received the state government nod. The unit will come up with an investment of Rs 63 crore with 273 employment opportunities.
