By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 8, 2018: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday rolled out red carpet for industrialists by assuring that his government would provide an ‘unmatched facilitation support’ and and invited them to experience the opportunities.
Addressing an investment roadshow in Mumbai, Patnaik invited businessmen to participate in the second Make in Odisha Conclave, which will be held at Bhubaneswar from November 11-15.

Odisha government organized the roadshow at Mumabi as part of its bid to promote the state as the “Eastern Gateway of India” the state government organised the roadshow in association with its industry partner Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). This is the second such meet at the country’s financial capital.
Business leaders from over 300 leading companies participated in the roadshow to explore attractive growth opportunities across Odisha’s focus sectors – food processing and seafood, ancillary and downstream industries in the metals sector, textiles, ESDM manufacturing, chemicals, plastics and petrochemicals and tourism.
“The strength of Odisha lies in its vast resource base, long coastline, assured power and water supply, port-driven development, excellent road network and connectivity, a young and skilled workforce and an industry-friendly and result-oriented responsive government,” said Patnaik.
“I am happy to share that Odisha is emerging as the manufacturing hub of eastern India and my government is working tirelessly towards developing the state into a manufacturing hub of South Asia,” he added saying that his government is focussing on the development of Human capital.
“My government has launched “Skilled in Odisha” program which is coming up as a global brand. I am happy to announce that a World Skill Centre with a 18-floor infrastructure is not ready in the capital city of Bhubaneswar”, the chief minister said.
Patnaik claimed that his government has put in place progressive policies and has created state-of-the-art infrastructure and a conducive environment for industrial development.
“We have seen a significant rise in attracting manufacturing projects with more than 118 large projects approved with an employment potential of 1,28,572 in the past four years alone. The average time taken for approval of the projects has also reduced to 20 days from the date of receipt of the completed project application. We have received encouraging response from the investors and they are keen to invest in Odisha,” Patnaik remarked.
The chief minister virtually met in person Who’s who of India Inc seeking investment for Odisha’s industrialization. These include meetings with Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group, Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, Gautam Singhania, CMD, Raymond Group, Kishore Biyani, Founder & CEO, Future Group among others.
In line with the theme of Make in Odisha Conclave 2018, Patnaik launched a campaign named “I am Odisha” during the roadshow.
