By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, July 19, 2018: The Odisha Truck Owners’ Association (OTOA) has extended its support to the nationwide indefinite strike called by the All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) on Friday.

The OTOA Rabi Satpathy on Thursday said that the strike will begin at 6 AM on Friday bringing operation of all the trucks to grinding halt.

The AITMC has demanded reduction in diesel prices by including it in Goods and Services Tax (GST) list, uniform pricing, quarterly revision of fuel prices, toll barrier free movement for trucks across the country to prevent losses.

“The strike will begin at 6 AM on July 20 demanding regulation of diesel prices and fulfillment of some other demands. The decision of indefinite strike was taken after the talks between the Government and the AIMTC failed, vice-president of Bhubaneswar Goods Transport Association (BGTA), Sangram Das told media persons.

Earlier the talks between the Centre and the AIMTC failed following which truckers have decided to go for indefinite strike.
