By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, October 30, 2017: The Odisha government on Monday sanctioned 23 projects worth around Rs 236 crore under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY).
A total of 26 proposals with an total investment of Rs 250 crore were examined at a state-level Sanctioning Committee meeting of the RKVY under the chairmanship of chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
These projects relate to agriculture, fisheries, irrigation, food production, livestock development and allied activities.
The major projects sanctioned included increasing irrigation potential through individually owned borewells and cluster micro river lift points, popularisation of modern agricultural equipment, surveillance and monitoring of common diseases in ducks, livestock support services at farmers’ doorsteps, strengthening cashew nurseries and promotion of intensive shrimp farming, officials said.
