Amit Shah speaking at Basantpur village

By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, July 6, 2017 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday called upon party leaders and workers to leave no stone unturned for the party’s sweeping victory in the 2019 assembly elections in Odisha.

Addressing key party members here, Shah told them not to rest till the Bharatiya Janata Party captured political power in the eastern state.

“I have travelled to various places in Odisha. It was not like an aerial visit by Naveen Patnaik. I sensed the mood of Odisha’s people in favour of BJP by travelling more than 400 km by road in three days,” Shah said.

Shah was on a three day visit to the state as part of his 115 day all-India tour to expand the base of his party in the state under ‘Mo Booth Sabuthu Majboot’ (My Booth is the Strongest) programme.

The BJP is focussing on expanding its base in Odisha ahead of the 2019 elections, after an impressive performance in the panchayat polls recently.

“There will be no development in the state till the BJD is in power. We should work to uproot the BJD government and bring the BJP to power.”

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said Shah presented a road map for ousting the BJD government in the 2019 polls.

“He presented an elaborate road map on this and assigned specific roles and responsibility to each and every karyakarta (worker),” tweeted Pradhan.

The party president also visited Binjharpur and had held talks with people in five villages followed by lunch at a dalit family’s house. Besides attending party workers’ meetings in Ganjam, Jajpur and Khurda districts, Shah interacted with leaders and discuss strategies to strengthen the organisation in the state.

He also met BJP zilla parishad members, block presidents and vice-presidents in the state.

On the last day of his three-visit tour of Odisha, Shah visited Basantpur village in Ekamra assembly constituency on the state capital’s outskirts where he met the villagers as a regular ‘booth worker’ talking to them about the welfare programmes of the government and seeking their support in the forthcoming election.
