By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, June 1, 2017: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Housing for All, will shortly be implemented here by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The PMAY is one of the key initiatives by the centre to provide houses to all in the urban areas by the year 2022.
The BMC has decided to receive the application form from the beneficiaries from June 4 at a meeting chaired by BMC Commissioner Krishan Kumar on Wednesday here. Special camps will be opened in all 67 wards along with help desks in each zone office to broad base the programmes including beneficiary selection process and system for house allotment.
As per the criteria under the central scheme, the beneficiary, who does not own a house anywhere in the country, whose annual income will be between Rs 2.16 lakh, who owns a land under BMC area, will be entitled to get the benefit under the PMAY. The eligible beneficiaries will be provided Rs 2 lakh in four instalments to build a house on minimum area of 25 square metre.
The BMC has made arrangement for receiving the applications, for verification, field inspection, social review and allotment within deadline. As per the schedule, the awareness programme will be launched from June 1, the camp will be set up from June 4 till 12, the process for keeping the application forms in order will start from June 12 till 21. Later, the names will be registered. The list of beneficiaries will be out from June 22 till 30 at BMC office, zone office and some other locations.
Resolution will be prepared by organising public meetings in different wards between July 1 and 7. The final list will be published from July 10 to 17. Later, the list will be forwarded to the State Housing & Urban Development department after approval at BMC council meeting. The approval process will be completed by July 25, BMC sources said.
