By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, April 8, 2016 : South Korean Ambassador in India Cho Hyun on Friday called on Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik to discuss investments and explore trade opportunities in the state.
Interestingly, the issue regarding the derailed Rs 52,000 crore steel project planned by South Korean company POSCO did not come up during the meeting.
“POSCO project unfortunately has not developed well. But, after 10 years, may be, we have to think more creatively. South Korea has many other things to offer, not just POSCO,” said Hyun speaking to reporters after the meeting.
The Envoy further said that the South Korean Government will honour POSCO’s decision which the company will take based on its commercial consideration.
Hyun further added that his country is in favour of more investment in India and that he has met a number of businessmen in his country last month and has encouraged them to invest in India.
