By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, November 28, 2015 : Odisha has set an ambitious target of target of achieving 60 per cent growth in manufacturing sector in next four years with a year-on-year growth of 15 per cent.
This was revealed by chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday while underlining his Government’s Vision 2019.
“Our Vision 2019 for industrial development is to achieve 60 percent increase in manufacturing growth with a year-on-year growth of 15 percent, and 25 percent increase in employment through manufacturing,” said the chief minister.
Odisha was building a “new future” for itself to become a beacon of success and prosperity not only in India but also across the globe, he remarked.
“For this future to be a reality, Odisha is looking to attracting and enabling investments from around the world,” the chief minister said while inaugurating the 20th Enterprise Odisha event here.
The CM also announced the launching of a new ‘Invest Odisha’ logo.
“This new logo and identity is more than just a new look. It signifies and embodies the change that Odisha is undergoing to become the investment destination of choice in India, and the diverse investment opportunities that the state has to offer across different sectors,” he said.
Patnaik said the new identity is also a testament of the enduring brand of Odisha to attract and support industrial development and the prosperity of its people.
The four-day industrial expo organised by CII is being attended by over 100 companies. “It is our common goal to transform Odisha into a vibrant industrialised State, to enhance the share of industries in State Gross Domestic Product and promote orderly and environmentally sustainable industrial growth,” said Chairman, CII, Eastern Region R Adm AK Verma.
