Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 6, 2015 : Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday ordered a probe by Crime Branch into Sarathi Baba – the controversial Godman’s alleged escapade in a Hyderabad-based hotel last month.

The chief minister in his usual one liner said: “Crime Branch would inquire into the matter.”

With protests over his alleged sexual escapades continuing unabated, the CM, who also has home portfolio, to order for CB probe. Earlier the Kendrapara District Magistrate directed his Superintendent of Police to probe the allegation against the ‘God Man.”

The Crime Branch will probe into the allegations made in a section of media, particularly by the television channels that the Baba stayed in the Hyderabad hotel with a woman. It would also find out whether the Godman in question was being framed with malicious intention as alleged by Sarathi Baba, sources said.

A team headed by an additional superintendent of police would visit Sarathi’s ashram at Barimula in Kendrapara district and begin its inquiry from there, sources added.
