By Bizodisha Bureau Bhubaneswar, July 15, 2015 : Power distribution companies from the state – Western Electric Supply Company of Odisha Ltd [WESCO] and North Eastern Supply Company of Odisha Ltd [NESCO] have bagged 2nd and 3rd National Award for Excellence in cost management in Public Service [large] category respectively for the year 2014.

Union Minster of state for Finance Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Wednesday gave away the prestigious awards to the representatives of Wesco and Nesco at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India – a statutory body under an Act of Parliament, every year selects organizations for excellence in cost management.

It may be mentioned here that Reliance group was managing the affairs of Wesco and Nesco till their license was revoked by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission [OERC] in March this year.

A jury headed by Justice V N Khare, former chief justice of India selected the awardees.
