Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, July 12, 2015 : Odisha government is all set to complete some 33 temporary shelters in the temple town of Puri to accomdate about one lakh pilgrims during the Car Festival on July 18.
About a half a million devotees are expected to visit Puri during the world famous Rath Yatra.
The shelters with all basic facilities, which the administration has coined as Nabakalebar villages will be ready to use within three days, officials said.
For security reasons, all the shelters built along the road from Malatipatpur bus terminal to Sipasarubali village, have been placed under CCTV surveillance system, they added.
“We hope these temporary accommodations will be helpful for the devotees. For the convenience of pilgrims, all the shelters have been constructed at strategic locations along the road leading to the rtemple town,” Bikas Mohapatra, RDC (central) said.
The official added, security personnel will be deployed in all the shelters to thwart any possible mishap.
