Close on the heels of announcement of a hike of six per cent in dearness allowance to its employees by the union government, the Odisha government on Monday announced six per cent hike in DA for its employees with effect from January 1 this year.

The hike will benefit about four lakh state government employees.

With the current hike, the DA for state government employees will work out to 113 percent of their basic pay, officials said.
