With the launching of the latest 24×7 News Channel, Kalinga TV, owned by Kalinga Media Entertainment Private Limited by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday, the Odia satellite channel count increased to 17.

Inaugurating the Channel Mr. Patnaik said, popularity of television news channels are growing day by day.

“Media is the mirror of society. The Government knows the problems of people through media, which helps government to solve the needs of public. Kalinga TV will be helpful to fulfil the hope and aspiration of Odia people”, he remarked.

Inaugurating the website of Kalinga TV, the minister of state, health and family welfare and information & public relations, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, said media has a vital role to build a healthy society.

“The news channels and print media should avoid negativity and should present the fact in an unbiased way. Kalinga TV can be popular among Odia people, if it follows this way”, he added.

Lok Sbah MP Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani, Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneswar North (Uttar) Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, Kalinga TV and others were present on the occasion.

Raageswari Loomba, noted singer, actress, model, television anchor and motivational speaker addressed the gathering by her motivational speech.

The channels launched prior to Kalinga TV are Doordsarshan {Odisa[, Colours [Odia], OTV, Naxatra News, Kamayab, Taranga, Kanaka TV, MBC TV, Taranga Music, Prarthana, Sarthak TV, Mu Odia, Zee Kalnga, Focus Odisha, Prameya News and Alankar.
