Hindalco, an Aditya Birla group company, on Sunday said based on Coal Mines (special provisions) Second Ordinance, 2014 and the Coal Mines (special provisions) Rules 2014, Talabira-1 mines has been vested over to GMR Chhattisgarh Energy Limited, with effect from April 1.

With this change, the services of all workmen and 26 supervisors staff employed at the mine have now come under GMR, – an Aditya Birla spokesperson said.

A joint declaration notice to this effect has been signed between Hindalco and GMR Chhattisgarh energy company Ltd and issued at the mines on March 31 regarding the continuity of job with GMR and receivables of these employees, the spokesperson added.

“Accordingly, all salaries including proportionate bonus and variable payments, and other incidental payments dues up to March 31 will be paid by Hindalco.

Any pending payment dues regarding salary errors or other similar claims and money payable regarding privilege leave till March 31 will be paid by Hindalco.

Similarly, it is mentioned that gratuity and provident fund (PF) amount will be transferred with GMR which will take care of same as per procedure. Both the companies have also confirmed that with this move the service conditions offered will continue to remain favourable,” the spokesperson said.
