The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity [ATE] on Monday reserved its judgment on the case relating to revocation of license of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infra [R-Infra] controlled three power distribution companies [Discoms] – Nesco, Wesco and Southco by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC).
The two-member ATE bench heard the arguments and counters of Discoms, OERC and the state-owned Grid Corporation of Odisha (Gridco) and asked them to file written reply and rejoinders within two-days if any.
Three Discoms – Nesco, Southco and Wesco, on Thursday had challenged the OERC’s order revoking their linceses for power distribution business before the ATE saying that the order “is illegal”.
The OERC last month had revoked licenses of these companies for allegedly disobeying its orders on improvement in power supply efficiency and appointed chairman-cum-managing director [CMD] as administrator of the three [Discoms] Nesco, Wesco and Southco which transmits power to northern, eastern and southern areas of the state.
Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal appeared on behalf of Discoms, while Dushmant Dave and Sekhar Naphade appeared for Gridco and OERC respectively.
