Paradip Port Trust [PPT] is all set to achieve the target of 69 million ton [MT] fixed by the union ministry of shipping for the FY 2014-15 and is expected to retain its 2nd position amongst all major ports in handling traffic.

Till March 18, 2015, thermal coal traffic handled at the port has recorded a growth of 20.78%, coking coal by 11.56% and fertilizer raw materials by 10.66% compared to the same period of previous fiscal.
The Port has notched up a record cargo throughput of 68.05 million ton [mt] by Wednesday surpassing last year’s total traffic of 68 mt. This is the highest ever traffic handled by the Port in a financial year, a release by PPT said.
