Odisha government on Tuesday issued new terms of reference (ToR) to the commission of inquiry headed by Justice Madan Mohan Das probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state, to identify bonafide invchit fundestors and suggest ways to return their money raising hopes among the thousands of poor people duped of their hard-earned money by ponzi firms.

The state government in its expanded ToR has sought help of Das Commission to recommend modules to give back the money of small-time but genuine and poor investors. The existing ToR mandated the commission only to recommend on how to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The state government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 300 crore towards corpus fund for the protection of interest of the depositors.
