The leading B-school Xavier Institute of Management-Bhubaneswar (XIMB) will open its second campus at Odisha’s steel city, according to a decision of the decision of the state government.
With growing discontentment at various places and agitations on the location of Indian Institute of Management [IIM] in the state, the decision to have a second campus of XIMB at the Steel City Rourkela was taken on Wednesday at a high level meeting presided over by chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) will provide all assistance for setting up of the second campus, official sources said.
The state government recently recommended the Centre for establishment of the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Sambalpur provided the stipulated regulations are relaxed by the centre for having IIM.
Among others, energy minister Pranab Prakash Das, chief secretary G C Pati, CMD, RSP and XIMB authorities were present at the meeting.
