A dozen technical institutes in Odisha have encroached upon the government land while 20 others have not only encroached upon forest and agricultural but also have illegally constructed buildings over large tract of the area, according to revenue minister Bijayashree Routray.
Replying to a question by BJP MLA, Dilip Ray, the minister said notices have been served these institutions by the concerned departments.
The collector of Khurda along with deputy collector of Bhubaneswar and tahasildars has been directed to identify and free encroached land, the minister added.
According to the evidences the encroachment an illegal construction on government lands are as follows:

Besides, Ganesh institute of Engineering and Technology, Nalanda Institute of Technology, NM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Synergy Institute of Technology etc have constructed buildings over forest and agricultural land.
