The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI on Saturday conducted simultaneous raids on the offices of Microfinance Ltd, a chit fund company.

According to reports, the SIT teams began raid at 14 places including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur where the chit fund company has its offices.

The CBI officials raided the house Durga Prasad Mishra at Aryabhumi Complex in Patia, the house of Ajay Swain, former personal assistant of commissioner-cum-secretary, Panchayati Raj, in Unit-IX area, the residence of Suratha Das, one of the directors of Microfinance Ltd at Sahid Nagar area, and the residence of retired IAS officer Jugal Kishore Satpathy in the city here.

This apart, the central investigating team also raided the residence of Ashok Patnaik, one of the directors of the company, in Khapuria area in Cuttack.

Besides, the raid was also conducted at the company’s head office in Berhampur city, said a release by the CBI’s public relations officer in New Delhi.

This was the second raid conducted by the SIT on the Microfinance Ltd.
