By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, May 14, 2022: The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has sought the personal intervention of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to halt the construction work of the Srimandir Corridor Project till the disposal of the case in the Orissa High Court.

“Since the High Court is hearing the case and if work is stopped in the interim period, it will make no difference to the execution of the project,” INTACH said in a letter to the chief minister.

“Several allegations and counters are flying thick surcharging the atmosphere while the common man, devotee of Lord Jagannath is totally confused, feeling hurt to no end,” the letter stated.

“So sir why not call a halt till the disposal of the case,” the INTACH said adding that a blame game is on over the project which has taken a political hue as happens in most cases..

Seeking personal intervention of the CM in the matter, the halting of the project will give a healing touch to the troubled minds of the people of Odisha.

Recently, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) told the Orissa High Court that the excavation works undertaken by the Odisha government have damaged the archaeological remains around Puri Jagannath temple.
