By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, January 25, 2018: Odisha government has made it easier for the officials to use Odia in official work with the Software developed for the purpose is ready to be operational very soon.

With successful testing of the software, the use of Odia language in Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System (OSWAS) to facilitate all the official work at the state secretariat will easier and convenient.

This was revealed at a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on work progress of use of Odia language in OSWAS and its promotion at Secretariat on Wednesday.

Padhi directed the officials to send the software to all the department secretaries for use of regional language as official language in the government offices.

After the software is tested effective, it would be linked to the Microsoft Office software for wide use of Odia in the government files and documents.

Padhi also asked the Culture department to take steps for holding book fairs in all the districts for promotion of Odia language and literature.

Meanwhile, the government has waived fees for students studying Odia language in colleges and universities. The initiatives have been taken to hold the seminars relating to Odia language in all the colleges and universities.

Padhi directed the officials to complete compilation of top essays and articles presented at the seminars by February.
