By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, November 23, 2017: Ahead of the winter session of the assembly session beginning on Tuesday, the Odisha government on Thursday approved a supplementary budget of Rs 9,829 crore.

The council of ministers chaired by chief minister Naveen Patnaik cleared the supplementary budget to carry forward several welfare schemes being implemented in the state.

Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera said the supplementary budget would cater to the additional expenditure required in the remaining four months of the current fiscal.

The Odisha government had presented Rs 1.06 lakh crore budget for the 2017-18 fiscal.
