Basant-Panda-640x493Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, March 6, 2016 : The president of Odisha state BJP unit,  Basant Panda on Sunday announced the names of the party office-bearers. The list consisted of seven vice presidents, four general secretaries, one general secretary (organisation), one treasurer and 10 secretaries.

“We have finalised a list of 24 officer bearers. There also are 79 executive members, 38 invitees, 84 special invitees in the team. I am sure the team will take the message of the Modiji to the people of the state and flag the misgovernance of the Odisha government,” said president Mr Panda announcing the list in a press conference here.

Even though BJP constitution allows for 10 vice presidents, Panda is yet to name rest of the three vice presidents of his team. He, however, clarified that the names would be announced soon.

In a major change, Sarada Satpathy has replaced Prasanna Mishra as general secretary (organisation). The position bears significance as this is considered to be the RSS representation in the party.

While he has inducted many new faces in the team, many experienced faces such as Prithiviraj Harichandan, Bhrugu Baxipatra have been retained and promoted. Some of the more experienced leaders have been accommodated in the ‘invitees’ category. Panda has tried to strike a balance between various gender, region and age equations. The announcement, so far, has been received well in the party.

The vice presidents are Samir Mohanty, Nayan Kishore Mohanty, Rajkishore Das, Bishnu Sethi, Sukeshi Oram, Namita Sahu and Aswini Sarangi.

Sarada Satpathy will be the new General Secretary (Organisation) and Sudarshan Goyal will take over as Treasurer.

The general secretaries are: Prithiviraj Harichandan, Bhrugu Baxipatra, Ananta Nayak and Ranjan Patel.

The secretaries are Dilip Mallick, Jatin Mohanty, Dhiren Senapati, Simantini Jena, Sovana Mohanty, Sabita Nanda, Bibhuti Jena, Sisir Gamang, Kalindi Samal and Lekhasri Samantsinghar.

Sajjan Sharma was announced the chief spokesperson while Dilip Mohanty and Golak Prasad Mohapatra were made Spokespersons.

Prabhati Parida has been appointed as the new BJP Mahila Morcha president, Tankadhar Tripathy as Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president, Sibaji Mohanty as Kishan Morcha president, Rabi Nayak as scheduled tribe (ST) Morcha president, Godinda Chandra Das as scheduled caste (SC) Morcha president, Sk. Mehtab Mohammed as Minority Morcha president and Krushna Chandra Patra as Other Backward Caste (OBC) Morcha President.
