By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, November 25, 2022: A total of 5.35 lakh MSME units have been set up in Odisha by 2021-22 financial year, informed MSME Minister Pratap Keshari Deb on Friday.

Replying to a written question of BJD MLA Prafulla Samal, the Minister said the state government announces industrial policies at different times with financial incentives for setting up units.

Under the MSMED Policy-2016, the state government is providing additional incentives including capital investment subsidy, seed capital assistance, etc.

As many as 94,130 MSME units are managed by women in the state by 2021-22, the Minister said.

Informing that MSME units are availing loans from commercial banks, he said as per the data from State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), the state has 155 special banks dealing with the MSMEs.
