By Bizodisha Bureau, Bhubaneswar, August 5, 2020: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated two new plasma banks at VIMSAR in Burla and MKCG hospital in Berhampur.

Odisha now has five plasma centres to bolster Odisha’s fight against the COVID19. Earlier SCB Hospital in Cuttack, Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and IGH in Rourkela had Plasma centres.

Inaugurating the plasma banks, chief minister, Naveen Patnaik said, “With total five centres covering all the regions of the state, plasma donation and transfusion will be much more accessible.”

Patnaik appreciated the efforts of the medical team who played a major role in operationalizing the centres.

“I am happy to note that out of the 60 patients that have been administered plasma in the state, 48 have shown good improvement.” Patnaik said on the status of plasma treatment in the state.

The chief minister urged all eligible plasma donors to come forward and donate for the greater good of humanity.
